The school was started in June 1998 by the Chennai based Vidya Mandir educational trust registered under public institution. The school made humble beginning as primary school now houses classes from PRE-KG to XII. Biology, Computer science and Commerce group electives are offered inthe higher secondary classes.

You will usually be able to get admission in our school for children from preprimary to secondary school without having to worry about an entrance exam. Class 6 and higher students will have to attempt a baseline assessment test before their admission is confirmed.

The CBSE board encourages schools to have 40 students or lower in their classrooms. However, in Vidya Mandhir School Ponneri, you will find that the student-teacher ratio is closer to 1:20 or 1:25. This is so that we can provide a better quality of education to our students.
